Want to be involved in a fun, unique activity at university? Or even interested in film/media as a career? You don’t need any experience, just ideas, to get involved in a fun, creative and unique skill. Durham University Film Making Society (DUFMS) meet twice weekly (Wednesdays and Sundays) for likeminded people to collaborate, work on projects, learn new skills and socialise afterwards. We also have less frequent talks, film showings of members’ films and guest speakers. Members have the opportunity to enter their films in competitions, including the Screentest National Student Film Competition. Whether you’re interested in making drama, music videos, action movies, documentaries or whatever your imagination can come up with, we’re here to help you get them made. We can give support and advice on developing an idea you have (however small) and loan out our society equipment (paid members only). Our Wednesday and Sunday slots provide a perfect opportunity to bring along a script you’ve done! Our website, is an important part of the society with the latest meeting and events news, as well as allowing you to put films you have made on the website for online viewing by you and other people.
