Description
The Hong Kong Society aims to promote Hong Kong culture in Durham. Our main objective lies in the welfare of Hong Kong students, but we welcome anyone interested in having a taste of Hong Kong culture. Socially, we strive to provide a meeting place for Hong Kong people in Durham and assist them in adapting to the British way of life. We plan to organise social gatherings - dinner, bowling, karaoke, mahjong games, sports competitions, film nights, and in particular, celebration events during Chinese festivals. To further our society aims, we also intend to organise events in Hong Kong such as pre-departure gatherings in Hong Kong for freshers, where students will have the opportunity to have questions answered by our representatives and meet other Durham University students in Hong Kong.
