Post: Computing Society, Durham Students' Union, Dunelm House, Durham, DH1 3AN

Also known as CompSoc, we are dedicated to supporting non-academic and home use of computers by staff and students of the University. We hold regular Tuesday evening talks by members, IT professionals and academics, and Wednesday lunchtime socials. Our list of past speakers includes Linux guru Eric Raymond and Cybernetics Professor Kevin Warwick. In addition to these events we like to run LAN gaming partys, workshops, and more. Durham University Computing Society can also offer members use of our extensive library of software and computing books, and accounts on our Linux server giving up to a gig extra space and access to programs not available on the University system. We are open to students from all faculties of the University.
