News: Durham International Light Festival
DSU was the backdrop for one of the stunning light-based artworks that formed part of Enlightenment: Durham International Light Festival, a truly international light festival celebrating Durham’s religious and industrial heritage. Four new light-based artworks showed Durham as viewed through the eyes of two very different cultures. The installations were a fusion of cultural identities, creative styles and methods of working. The individual pieces took their inspiration from the sacred texts, iconic images and traditions of Durham and a number of Eastern societies. Enlightenment illuminated the heart of the Durham City from Thursday 06 November until Saturday 08 November.
